Hydrognomon is a free software
application for the analysis and
processing of hydrological data, mainly in the form of time series. It is
provided under the terms of the
GNU GPLv3 License.
Hydrognomon is part of the
openmeteo.org framework, where source code can be obtained.
Key features are:
- Tabular representation of data in many forms.
- Analysis of several time steps ranging from minutes to decades
or centuries.
- Tools for statistical analysis such as distribution
functions fitting, multi regression analysis, statistical
forecasting, monte carlo, ombrian curves (IDF analysis).
- Specific tools for analyzing hydrological data, e.g.
evapotranspiration calculations, water basin model
(lumped), stage-discharge curves, etc.
Hydrognomon has been developed mainly to serve the research activities of the
ITIA research group
which is responsible for the design and maintenance of the
software. Hydrognomon is also one of the software supporting
